Bought originally in Columbia Road Flower Market on a Sunday, by Wednesday the deep, coral pink blooms had transformed into soft pink, and by Friday an unrecognisable pale yellow.
I chose to paint the peonies (from life) at the end of their journey, when they were a light, translucent yellow.
